What is SNAP?

Students Need an Alternate Party is a group of concerned parents and community members working with the Spring Ford Education Foundation in an effort to provide a spectacular post-prom event for all Spring-Ford juniors and seniors whether or not they attend the prom.  This is not just about a post prom party. It is about the safety of our children and our community.

Prom night is statistically the most dangerous night of the year for high school students. Even though you may not have a child who is a junior or senior, we need all parents to be committed to keeping our community safe and free from drug and alcohol-related tragedy.

Prizes, Prizes, Prizes!!

Small Prizes are given out daily during sign-ups for SNAP as incentive for our students to attend.  Our goal is to give out so many prizes at post prom that every student wins at least one prize.  Prizes include electronics (TV's and a computer), practical (refrigerators and school stuff), teen needs (gift cards for gas, music and food) and CASH!  These prizes are given away every hour with the largest prize given away at 4:45 AM.  Students must be present to win.  This keeps the students motivated to stay until the party ends!

What Kind of Party?

This party "WOWs" students.  We offer amazing activities and games that are safe for them to play all night long.  This is a night to remember with inflatable games like horizontal bungee races, gaming tables, magicians, face painting, caricaturists, karaoke, movies, dancing and more.  Food will be provided throughout the night including desserts, snacks, pizza and everything in between.  All events are chaperoned.

How Much?

Free for students who attend the prom or Spring-Ford juniors or seniors who choose not to attend the prom.

Did You Know?

It costs approximately $10 per Spring-Ford School District student to host the SNAP party.  SNAP relies on generous contributions from the community to throw this party every year.  Every little bit counts.  If we collect $10 per Spring-Ford student, regardless if you have a high school student, we have achieved our goal and you can feel great about paying it forward.

Our overall budget is $40,000 which may sound like a lot but if you consider that we have almost 800 kids in attendance, you cannot put a price on saving a life If you would like to contribute to SNAP's success check out the Get Involved page.
